Description
Dunkeld Larch Tree (Larix x eurolepis)
Discovered in the early 1900’s in Dunkeld, this hybrid is a cross between Japanese and European Larch.
The trees are fast growing and turn and amazing golden-yellow colour in autumn. The flowers are purple-red and appear in early Spring.
Larch provides a great nesting site for Goshawks and Sparrowhawks. The larch also attracts other birds such as the Crested Tit, Crossbill, Redwing, Fieldfare, Wryneck and Tree Creeper.
